Firstly, I sincerely thank you for your interest in Uomo D'oro. Please allow me to share with you a short version of my journey that has led me to writing you this letter today.

Uomo D'oro, which is Italian for "Man of Gold", was born out of the inner journey of my soul (or whatever you prefer to call it). In 1991, a seed was planted in my 9 year old heart through the words and example of an iconic sporting legend - Michael Jordan. 

Most beloved fans would gush over the accomplishments of their biggest heroes. But for me, it was how my hero spoke to something deep within me, which, looking back, was so incredibly needed, that took my life on a journey to Uomo D'oro. 

Looking back now, I realize the true reasons why I become so infatuated with sneakers. They were a symbol of this uncovered part of me that was desiring to be freed - my inner champion. 

A deeper part of me always believed in my potential. A big reason for this was because of the words and example of my hero, combined with my Mother's steadfast belief in me. Admittingly, I haven't always lived up to that potential and I continue to work towards it's fullest expression every day. I see all of those setbacks as blessings. They've taught me what I needed to be taught most.

In my life I've been met with failures, setbacks and mistakes. Words presented to me through my hero such as, "fear is only an illusion", "do what you love" and "never give up" guided me through all the hard times.

These words and examples helped me start the journey to find my inner champion and Uomo D'oro is a culminating expression of it and my unique attempt of providing something for the world that people may enjoy and be inspired by every day. Secretly and unknowingly, it has become a means for me to continue to uncover more of my inner champion.

I see it as a fusion of my passions for sneakers, exceptionally designed luxury goods, self discovery and helping others.

All that I've learned about life to date is expressed through this ultra-luxury brand. My intention, beyond helping men (and myself) find their inner champion, is to disrupt the luxury and sneaker markets by infusing meaning into every purchase at a level that hasn't been done before - to bring back meaning and purpose to the things we purchase. I'm committed to standing for the values of unity, courage and compassion. That is my wish.
